There are over 300 colleges and universities just in the United States, that specifically cater to students with SLD. Programs are available for LD students who are determined to complete a two- or four-year bachelor’s program. Students can always locate or transfer to a school that will match their needs, interests and budget.

GoWorld is hosting a free webinar for high school students and parents to understand various study options like:

Parents, counselors, academicians, and people associated with areas related to special learning differences are welcome to attend.

The webinar consists of 3 sessions with 25 minutes of talk/ presentation followed by 15 minutes question and answer session over Google Meet. The meeting invite shall be emailed upon registration using the form below.

About the Speakers: 

Ms. Sudha Karthik, mother of Abhinav Karthik, an SLD student, who overcame the challenges faced as a parent.

  • Ms. Sudha is herself a Special Educator and a Psychologist currently studying for her Master’s degree in the UK.
  • Her son Abhinav graduated with a BTech EEE from SRM University and is currently studying his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Northumbria University, UK. His current thesis and dissertation topic are `Faults and defects’.

Ms Lakshmi Satish, Founder of Mirra Educational Charitable Trust. Mirra is a dream of creating an all-inclusive space for children to go beyond disabilities.  Read about Mirra

Lakshmi studied English literature and was always inclined towards teaching children, this prompted her to become a trained teacher.  Soon this paved the way for her to become a special educator and work in an inclusive school in Chennai. Having seen what effective inclusion could do to children with needs, the urge to reach out to a larger section of children and schools resulted in MIRRA. She is a certified arts-based therapy practitioner.

Ms Rajalaxmi V –  Joined SBI as a probationary officer in 2008. An experienced manager with a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry. Skilled in Risk Management, Cross Selling, Credit Analysis, Branch Banking, and Core Banking. Strong professional with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) focused on Finance, General from Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Prior to SBI, had a short stint in US-based BPOs/KPOs, have been a part of the training team, espl communication and soft skills.
